Adult Classes
Reward yourself or the adults in your life! Creativity = Joy
Reward yourself or the adults in your life! Creativity = Joy
Sunday, June 21 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Join artist and facilitator Bareket Kezwer for a Summer Solstice collage playshop—a gentle, joyful pause at the season’s bright turning point. We’ll begin with a short grounding meditation, then move through a series of simple, inviting prompts to help you reflect on what’s growing in your life and what you’d like to nurture in the months ahead. Working with a thoughtfully curated selection of books and magazines—plus a range of beautiful, tactile materials—you’ll create an intuitive, layered collage that captures what feels most alive for you right now. No experience needed! This is about slowing down, following your curiosity, and making space for creative play. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece—and a visual reminder of what you want to carry into the season ahead. At our 1152 College Street Location.
Saturday, May 23 from 7–9 pm.
Do you love receiving something in the mail other than fast-food coupons and real-estate listings? So do your friends! Be the pal that writes first by joining the Hot Pizza Correspondence Club. We’ll start with a round of introductions, then we’ll spend about two hours in good company writing cards and letters; trading stickers, washi, ink, and paper; and enjoying good music. We’ll offer some supplies. You can bring some of your own. And if you need it, we’ll run your letters to the post office on Monday. Led by Brian Sholis. At 1152 College Street location.
Saturday, May 30 from 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Practice your drawing skills while meeting cool people AND amassing a unique collection of portraits of YOU! Every skill level is welcome and no experience is required. Speed is key, meaning there is no time for perfectionism, over-analysis, or being too precious. We practice drawing each other, together, and while doing so have great conversations and deepen our collective understanding of our uniqueness. No drawing experience required! You’ll see: this will be deeply freeing and joyful! Taught by Hot Pizza faculty Danielle Taschereau Mamers. At 1152 College Street location.
Sunday, June 21 from 10 a.m.—12 p.m.
This is the most fun you’ve ever had: we’ll make sculptures of our own hands using alginate molds + hydrocal (don’t worry—we’ll teach you exactly how). You’ll leave with an incredible, perfectly detailed cast of your hand (or you and a loved one’s, besties, two siblings, etc., hands together). It’s weirdly moving, wildly satisfying, and honestly kind of magical—you’ll see. You leave with a unique and special work of art as a forever keepsake. Class fee is per person. At our 1152 College Street location.
Saturday, June 27 from 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Join us in this very fun workshop, where we’ll use watercolours and mixed media (think coloured pencils, oil pastels, and collage) to capture our beloved furry friends, those with us or those who live in our memories. Bring a photo (printed or on your phone) and we’ll teach you to translate the image into a gorgeous artwork for you to take home. Taught by she-with-a-cult-following Sarah Aranha. At our 1152 College Street location.
