This beginner-to-intermediate class introduces students to printmaking using rubber and lino blocks to create prints on paper and textiles (and tea towels!). Through guided demonstrations, students learn safe tool handling, registration, reduction and multi-colour printing, chine collé, stamp patterning, and carbon-transfer techniques. Participants will develop a cohesive print series and create functional and decorative pieces while gaining the skills and confidence to continue printmaking independently. Taught by the amazing Paul Dotey! Runs September 15, 22, 29; October 6, 13, 20, and 27. At 134 Osler Street location.

This class will explore the basics of oil painting, including colour theory, composition, and a variety of application strategies. All skill levels are welcome! Each class will build upon the previous session, and over the course of seven weeks, students will create several small oil paintings using photographs as references. The class will consist of both group instruction and one–on–one attention from the wildly talented Hot Pizza Faculty member Kelly Rose Adams. Students will be sent a list of materials to bring with them at the start of the course. Runs September 16, 23, 30; October 7, 14, and 21. Thursdays from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at 1152 College Street~ For 7 WEEKS starting September 17 ~ REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
This is a hands-on course for making garments that fit you while using nearly every scrap of fabric. You will learn the essentials, including machine basics, taking measurements, cutting, seam finishing, and construction, in a supportive, community studio setting. We will complete three practical, style-forward projects: a one-of-a-kind tote, a simple jacket or housecoat, and a final “choose-your-own” garment with lots of guidance and options. (This is a pillowcase-free zone.) Bring your own machine if you have one (if you don’t, we got you!), and we will help you get it set up and running smoothly, plus cover basic care and maintenance.
