Adult Classes
Reward yourself or the adults in your life! Creativity = Joy
Reward yourself or the adults in your life! Creativity = Joy
Sunday, June 21 from 10 a.m.—12 p.m. at 134 Osler St.
This is the most fun you’ve ever had: we’ll make sculptures of our own hands using alginate molds + hydrocal (don’t worry—we’ll teach you exactly how). You’ll leave with an incredible, perfectly detailed cast of your hand (or you and a loved one’s, besties, two siblings, etc., hands together). It’s weirdly moving, wildly satisfying, and honestly kind of magical—you’ll see. You leave with a unique and special work of art as a forever keepsake. Class fee is per person.
The persistent myth about watercolours is that they are “hard to control” and “difficult.” This class conquers through unconquering: by going with the flow and learning the various techniques that can be used to create genuinely beautiful and expressive works of art. We’ll be mixing media this time, incorporating pencil and pencil crayon work. Hot Pizza will provide supplies during class! Also, best hot date ever. Taught by she-with-the-cult-following Sarah Aranha.
Do you love receiving something in the mail other than fast-food coupons and real-estate listings? So do your friends! Be the pal that writes first by joining the Hot Pizza Correspondence Club. We’ll start with a round of introductions, then we’ll spend about two hours in good company writing cards and letters; trading stickers, washi, ink, and paper; and enjoying good music. We’ll offer some supplies. You can bring some of your own. And if you need it, we’ll run your letters to the post office on Monday. Led by Brian Sholis.
Join Sarah Aranha, artist extraordinaire, in this workshop focused on food! Using watercolour and mixed-media (think coloured pencils and collage), we’ll learn to paint our favourite recipes on gorgeous paper, which you’ll take home to cherish (and cook with!). Sarah has the uncanny ability of making watercolours accessible and revelatory in their sumptuous beauty, the best way to capture culinary delights for body and soul. At our 134 Osler Street location.
