Saturday, November 7 from 7:30—9:30 p.m. at 1152 College Street
Do you love receiving something in the mail other than fast-food coupons and real-estate listings? So do your friends! Be the pal that writes first by joining the Hot Pizza Letter-Writing Club. We’ll start with a round of introductions, then we’ll spend about two hours in good company writing cards and letters; trading stickers, washi, ink, and paper; and enjoying good music. We’ll offer some supplies. You can bring some of your own. And if you need it, we’ll run your letters to the post office on Monday. Led by HP cofounder and fountain-pen enthusiast Brian Sholis.
For kids
Saturday, November 7, 12–2 p.m. at 1152 College Street ~ Grades 4—8
In this one-off class taught by the amazing Steve Bynoe, explore Manga WHILE EATING PIZZA. Learn and refine your own manga style by looking to manga greats such as Son Goku (Dragon Ball), Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece), Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto), Astro Boy, Sailor Moon, and more. We’ll teach students about the effects of exaggerated expressions, unique panel layouts, and fast-paced action so they can develop their own manga worlds. No experience required! Just, as always, curiosity.

In this class, we will learn to knit very scary monsters using yarn, appliqués, and icords! Knit Master Sandra Moretti teaches knitting like no other: in an accessible, all-levels way; we’ll learn and practice casting-on and off, as well as how to knit in the round. Bring your own knitting needles and yarn* (so that you can take them with you after class to keep working!), we provide the appliqués and icords. Please note, class price is per person. At 1152 College Street location.
*If you’re new to knitting: the best needles for beginners are straight, bamboo needles in sizes 5 mm–7mm—or if you already have yarn, check the label and it will indicate the right size needles to use. For yarn, a bulky-weight wool blend is best, but a medium worsted weight will work, too. These are available at any craft or knitting store. At 1152 College Street location. Please note, class price is per person.
