Bring your ideas to the screen! Students will explore analog and digital animation—from essential principles like squash and stretch to creating original sequences in Procreate and Stop Motion Studio. They’ll develop concepts, design characters, build sets, and use LEGO to produce their own stop-motion films while experimenting with movement, timing, sound, camera angles, editing, and special effects. Ideal for artists, storytellers, LEGO enthusiasts, and aspiring animators and filmmakers—no previous animation experience required. Taught by the amazing Mike Ellis, he of Pieces of Eights fame. OH! And we serve actual hot pizza on the last day of class!
Students will need a tablet and digital pencil, as well as Procreate, which requires a one-time fee of $17.99, and Stop Motion Studio (free!). If tech is a barrier to participating, please reach out! Runs November 3, 10, 17, and 24; December 1, 8, and 15. At our 1152 College Street location.
